If the only member of a group is the owner, they have the option to remove it. Admins may archive a group, which removes it from the public search on Facebook and prevents new members from joining. Admins can only delete a group if the original owner leaves the group first.
The group owner can only delete the group if they are the original creator. The power to permanently delete a group is only available to the initial creator of the group while they are still a member. Any other admin may terminate a group, however, if its creator has departed it.
