Open Twitter on your computer or phone. nGo to Account settings and select ‘Deactivate my account’ at the bottom of the page. Read through the deactivation process. Select ‘Okay, fine, delete the account.’ When prompted, input your password and confirm that you want to terminate your account.
Tap on the back arrow in the upper corner of your screen. Select ‘Deactivate Your Account’ from the drop-down menu that appears. Click on the back button in the upper-right corner of your screen to return to this page.
Go to Twitter and sign in with your account. Select Settings and Privacy from the top right corner menu. At the bottom of the screen, click Deactivate your account.
Twitter will delete your data from their website and place your account in a queue for permanent deletion as soon as you deactivate it. After 30 days, Twitter will begin the process of permanently deleting your account from their system, which can take up to a week.
On a smartphone, tap the button to remove a Twitter account. You’ll be given a pop-up screen with a list of your linked accounts. Then choose Delete from the drop-down menu in the top left corner.
