If you use the Google Photos app as a gallery app to look at your photographs and don’t enable the Backup and sync option, there will be no effect on your phone. That is, after uninstalling the program, no photo will be lost from either Android or iOS phones.

Open the Google Photos app on your Android phone or tablet. Log in with your Google Account. Select a photo or video you want to trash by tapping and holding it. You may choose many items at once. Tap Remove at the top of the screen.

Go to www.google.com/settings/storage and sign in using your Google Account credentials. Select Cancel when prompted by the screen. Review any changes in storage that will occur after you cease your plan.

Open the Google Photos app on your Android or iOS device. Tap the profile photo icon in the upper right corner. Select “Use without an account” from your current account profile using the drop-down arrow.
