1. (Win7) right-click on a word/phrase you wish to track in the document and select “Grammarly” in the context menu; then uncheck “Always check spelling and grammar” option if it is checked.

  2. Then go to Tools->Options->Spelling & Grammar, uncheck “Check spelling as you type”. Save and exit Word.

  3. Delete location of Grammarly plugin file; Documents\Grammarly\grammalysisweetspot folder and %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\flepfconjbldfjjpcmfafdphceeifbp\1.8_0\ .

  4. Open Google Chrome and go to settings->Extensions>check Grammarly plugin, then click on the trash can icon to delete it.

(win 7) Go to Start -> Control Panel->Programs and Features, check if Grammarly is listed there (it may be listed with the last installed date of Feb 20), uncheck it by right-clicking on it(may take a while for it to show up in the list), then uninstall it from Programs and Features, if you have no luck try going through Registry Key [ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \ Grammarly] and delete the key [it may be listed as Ad-on to Microsoft Office], then reboot PC.

  6. Start->Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center, click on Change adapter settings in “view your active networks”, look for a network called “Grammarly Inc” or something like that, right click on it and select disable .

  7. Open registry keys at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services<service name> (e.g., uiAudFilter) and set DllName value to nul; Reboot PC if necessary to complete action.  You can now add a new service.

  8. Open Windows start menu and search for Services, look for a Grammarly Inc service (usually the first one) select it by right clicking on it and select properties; then click on the stop button at top of the tab to stop it from running automatically during boot up. If you see another entry for Grammarly in windows explorer or in system tray you may try doing the same thing with those entries too.

  9. (win 7) Go to Start -> Control Panel->System and Security>Action Center, click Change Action Center settings link, look for option “Get tips, tricks & suggestions as you use Windows” , uncheck that box and save changes; if saved successfully Will show up as unchecked.
