- An “active” account has been deleted permanently, but you can request Google to delete any of your message content and/or contact list before this happens for an additional charge (this used to be free but there was such an outcry against people accidentally deleting their data that it now costs money to delete information completely). You cannot recover an active Gmail account once it is deleted because there will be nothing left on Google’s servers, but you can always set up a new one.
When you delete contacts from a Google account, it deletes them from all of your Android devices. Delete Contacts on Android Devices
1)Tap the Apps icon at the bottom of your screen > Gmail.
In the Gmail app, tap the Menu icon and select Settings > Accounts & Import tab.
Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right-hand corner and tap Show Import/Export options. The settings screen will change to display fields for selecting what content should be synced between the device and Google Account. Turn off Sync Contacts so that you can remove individual items without removing all contacts from that account on this phone or tablet only (this is optional). On some devices, you may also want to turn off Sync Gmail or Sync Calendar, depending on which data you want to sync.
Scroll down the bottom of this screen until you see the list of contacts. Tap Edit in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the contact that you want to delete and then tap Delete in the lower right-hand corner to confirm your choice. Repeat for each contact that you want to delete from your Google account. When done, tap DONE at top of the screen. Finally, go back and turn off sync Contacts again (if desired).
How do I delete contacts from Gmail? You can either remove individual contacts or clear your entire address book via Settings > Accounts & Import > Remove accounts individually.
To turn off contacts synching in the Exchange account on an iPhone, go to Settings > Accounts > Exchange > (Your account) and disable Contacts synchronization. Go back to Settings > Apps, open the overflow icon in the top right, and tap Show system. Scroll down to Contacts Storage app and tap it. Tap Storage then Clear Data.
Removing the Google account from your phone should have deleted all contacts linked to that account, but if not you can find and delete them in contacts.

To delete contacts:Tap the contact icon on top of a contact. Tap More at the right side, and then tap Delete in the drop-down menu. Repeat for other contacts that you want to delete from your device.
